Who are we?

Welcome to Irish Association for Women in Geosciences!

We are an international chapter of the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG). AWG is an international organisation that helps to foster professional advancement and retention of female geoscientists by providing financial support, professional development and leadership opportunities, and advocating on behalf of women geoscientists across the globe.

The aim of this chapter is to encourage, promote and support women geoscientists at all levels of their career (from undergraduate to professionals) by hosting social networking events, career days, workshops, panel discussions and Q&A’s, fieldtrips, short courses and mentoring programmes.

The chapter is open to anyone who supports these goals so if you’re interested in becoming a member, taking part in some events, or simply fancy a chat about women in geoscience then get in touch!

Wondering who’s behind the scenes? Say hello to just some of our wonderful committee…

Not to mention our amazing team of hard-working volunteers without whom all our events could not happen!
